“Notte al Museo”– Extraordinary opening and free admittance

On Saturday 16th May 2009, the initiative “Fai il pieno di cultura – UNA NOTTE AL MUSEO” (Night at the Museum), promoted by Regione Lombardia and Provincia di Como, had much success.
In fact, the EDUCATIONAL SILK MUSEUM, which was open from 6 p.m. to midnight, welcomed many visitors from Como and its province. In particular, they had the opportunity to visit and understand the silk manufacturing process. The Italian and English free guided tours (at 6.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.) showed silkworm breeding, reeling, throwing, hand weaving, mechanical weaving, the physics laboratory, dyeing, printing and finishing.
