A new management
We are pleased to inform you that in the remote meeting of the annual Assembly of the Association for the Silk Museum, held on June 16, the new Council Members and Auditors were elected for the period 2020/2022.
The newly-appointed President Giovanna Baglio, with the vice-president, Maurizio Moscatelli, will coordinate the team indicated by the associates, Friends of ‘27 and the Association of Alumni of Setificio School, Municipality, Province and Chamber of Commerce of Como, Confartigianato, Confindustria, Confcommercio, Companies and Persons.
The new President, in addition to the reopening after the months of forced closure, has the will to continue with the enhancement of the existing inherited heritage and with the incredible work done by Bianca Passera with her staff.
All this with the involvement of Associations representing the Culture, not only closely related to the world of textiles.
The Museum boasts machines and documents of the silk economy, typical of Como area, a heritage enriched over the years by donations which interests visitors and scholars. The whole activity of the Museum is focused on the recovery, restoration, conservation and enhancement of the Museum items, on the research and collection of documents, photographs, books and samples that deepen the most disparate themes, from industrial archeology to design, to the life of workers and industrialists.
Many thanks to the previous Council for the fruitful work, a constructive activity to the new settlements.
